Your Donation Can Change A Veteran’s Life

Hearts for the Homeless® is a community-minded organization, and we are honored to support our local Veterans in partnership with WNY Veterans Housing Coalition Inc. A case worker for the agency who has been a great friend of Hearts requested assistance for his client facing an urgent need of clothing.  Our solution was to provide gift cards for the Hearts Thrift Stores, allowing veterans to choose the items they needed, thereby ensuring a shopping experience that maintained their dignity.

One story that stands out is of a case worker and his client who visited our thrift store one March morning. They asked to see a leadership team member at the register. Hearts’ Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant Kelsey was delighted to meet both the case worker and his client, who had just finished shopping for a new outfit provided by Hearts. They explained that he was preparing for an apartment interview the following day, and the clothes he found at the Hearts Thrift Store not only met his physical needs but also boosted his confidence for the upcoming interview, aiding him in his pursuit of stable housing. 

At Hearts, we take pride in supporting those in need, and our mission is to provide resources and instill hope in the lives of those we serve.
