National Fuel Gas Company Foundation Grant Recipient

In November of 2022, on Giving Tuesday, Hearts for the Homeless ® was one of four recipients within New York State to receive a grant from National Fuel Gas Company Foundation. We are honored for their support and generosity.

“Our recent grant recipients comprise organizations that focus on food insecurity, homelessness and human services, provide education and youth programs, and preserve and enhance state parks,” said David P. Bauer, Foundation President and President and CEO of National Fuel.

Because of grants like this, we are able to help the homeless community and other facing food insecurity, including families in need. This specific grant will be able to provide assistance in launching a brand new program: Hearts Food Pantry Express. This new program will present an opportunity for Hearts to travel beyond the borders of the city and provide assistance to different communities within Western New York.

Thanks to this partnership with National Fuel Gas Company Foundation, not only are we able to launch a new program and expand our reach to more people in different neighborhoods outside the City of Buffalo, we are also able to provide new volunteer opportunities to those who want to serve.

“Our employees’ generosity this holiday season also is apparent through successful food drives, volunteerism and contributions of gifts to families in need within the communities where we live and work,” Bauer said.

This holiday season, National Fuel employees will volunteer at the Hearts Campus. They will be assembling Christmas care packages which will be handed out to 200 of our homeless brothers and sisters.
