Dignity In Diversity

A food pantry filled with a variety of nutritious foods supports making the healthy choice the easy choice for food pantry clients. The Hearts Harvest Food Pantry prides itself on offering a dignified program utilizing a “client choice” distribution method so individuals and families can choose the food that suits their needs.

Client food preferences will vary widely depending on factors including health conditions or cultural and religious beliefs. By considering common dietary needs such as low-sodium, gluten free, vegetarian/vegan, Halal or Kosher, the Heart Harvest Food Pantry ensures it’s being inclusive of all audiences served.

Located in the heart of Buffalo’s Riverside community, the Hearts Harvest Food Pantry has a diverse client base serving families and individuals with different backgrounds and nationalities. From baby formula to bok choy, we’re here to serve everyone with dignity and respect, even their pets by offering dog and cat food. We offer a wide variety of food items including  meats and fish, fresh produce and baked goods, to suit our client’s needs. Our clients appreciate the food and provisions we offer but the time volunteers and staff take to listen to their stories and offer them support can make a life changing difference.

Our partnerships and donors’ gifts help ensure the food we make available is appropriate for a variety of dietary needs and food preferences, and as a result will be consumed. People are generally pleased in knowing that Hearts is here to help them the best way we can. We listen to their heartaches, offer as much support as we can and pray for their needs. Your support allows us to be their safe haven.

Through these relationships, the Hearts’ staff and volunteers are able to make personal connections with our neighbors. The pantry is a living example of God’s love for His people and hundreds of individuals and families are visiting this program of Hearts for the Homeless® each month.
