Over 20 Years Later, A Kitchen Renovation Is On The Horizon
For close to 25 years the commercial kitchen at Hearts has largely remained unchanged and has been preparing meals to serve those in need year after year. In turn, impacting the lives of tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters, praise God!
Originally designed specifically for the Hearts Mobile Soup Kitchen, the kitchen has become stretched to capacity and to its capabilities. As staff and volunteers prepare meals using donated produce and other items, the kitchen’s limitations are becoming evident. Even so, it has been truly amazing to see the decades old equipment utilized for additional programs and partnerships, all serving those in need and creating opportunities to share the love of Christ. One partner that provides shelter to the homeless shared that the meals provided by Hearts allowed them to extend the number of nights shelter was provided by reallocating resources; food was turned into shelter. We are grateful that Hearts can play a role in this and are thankful for your continued support so we can say yes to meaningful partnerships.
After remaining largely unchanged for close to 25 years, we will be stepping out in faith to take on a significant kitchen renovation project that will benefit the ministry and community long into the future. In the coming months we will continue to pray about how Hearts’ commercial kitchen can be used to impact the lives of our community members.
Please stay tuned for ways to get involved with this renovation. In the meantime, please pray with us that God will continue to use Hearts in big ways!
