On Our Hearts
Summer Cook Out
Over 90+ served! Our all volunteer, Friday Night Mobile Crew had their Annual Cookout on June 29th. This special event took place at the Buffalo & Erie County Library downtown where Hearts serves the poor and homeless nightly. The Friday crew sure knows how to care for the less fortunate. Their generosity and labor of love for the hurting was so appreciated.
Each person received a 1/2 chicken from the grill, potatoes, mac n cheese, rolls, soda/water and a few extras given out by our mission group from Zion Dominion Global Outreach. Everyone was truly blessed and happy! At one point, the crew had to set aside the sign-in sheet to focus on serving the large crowd and lost track of the exact number of people who came to eat; but, estimated at 90+.
Co-Leaders, Rick Izzo and Dave Norton, came up with this idea and have taken charge to carry out these cook-outs for several years now, as well as footing the bill. In response to the event, Rick commented; “I hope they get a small feeling of a better meal and a sense that [our human] hearts really care about them!”
Thank you Friday Crew – you are an amazing group of people.

Thrift Shop News
♥ We take your prayer requests to heart: The other day, a customer walked straight through the store, headed right up to the counter, and asked if we still had a prayer box. She had a prayer request to put into it and said she trusted that we would be praying for her. The staff in the thrift store continues to receive prayer requests in our prayer box and prays faithfully every day for each one submitted.
♥ Our Vintage House Wares are a hit! Hearts Thrift Shop has some of the coolest vintage, collectible and antique merchandise. One gentleman came in recently asking to see the Cabbage Patch Doll he saw listed on our Facebook page; his daughter, who is now 32 years old, had one just like it when she was little. He was excited to find and purchase the same one! Keep a look out on our Facebook page for up-to-date photos and prices of what items are in stock. Hurry in though, we can’t hold items and you don’t want to miss out.
♥ We restock our merchandise daily in all departments. Stop by regularly so you don’t miss out on any bargains or the great variety of clothing and home decor.
