Holiday Helpers From Highmark
As part of their efforts to make the season bright for those in need, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York employees donated $20,000 total to four local nonprofits. Hearts for the Homeless® was one of the recipients who received $5,000 on Tuesday December 12th.
“It’s an annual holiday tradition at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for employees to band together to collect most-needed food and clothing items for adopt-a-family programs, and volunteer their time on special projects, including serving meals, decorating homes, and making blankets for those in need,” said Dr. Michael Edbauer, President, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
As part of their Holiday Helpers fund, Highmark BCBS employees selected the four nonprofits to each receive this $5,000 donation. Hearts for the Homeless® joined employees at their Buffalo headquarters during their annual holiday celebration to receive the donation.
This donation will allow Hearts for the Homeless® to continue the mission of providing basic human needs like food and clothing to those in need through outreach programs such as the Hearts Mobile Soup Kitchen and the Hearts Food Pantry Express.
