The Impact Of Your Donated Goods: Recycling Clothes, Restoring Lives®
Hungry, cold and walking around with wet feet for hours or even days, can you imagine? We see this far too often when ministering to the poor and homeless but there is good news! Your donations, financial and otherwise, really can restore lives. Donations of clothing, shoes, blankets and household items can take several different paths after they are donated to Hearts. All paths lead to lives being restored. This is possible because items go directly to those in need through our various outreach programs and items are turned into funding to support Hearts’ mission.
Recently a woman visited our Mobile Soup Kitchen; she arrived shivering – without a coat and with wet socks and wet shoes. Not only did she leave with a hot meal, supported by your donations, but she also was able to walk away in dry socks, shoes and in a winter coat. Your donations made this possible and the hope she left with is immeasurable.
The donated goods program at Hearts has become one of our most cost effective fundraising efforts; through the thrift store operation and our recycling program, we steward each donation to generate the biggest impact. Your generosity allows us to supply tens of thousands of meals to those in need. Feeding and clothing our brothers and sisters is just the beginning; meals served with dignity allow volunteers to build relationships and share the Gospel – lives are restored. As you begin spring cleaning we are preparing to accept your donations and put them to use in restoring lives. Thank you for your continued generosity.
