On Our Hearts
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” ~1 Corinthians 2:9
Isn’t it a blessing to know that God never stops thinking about us? He has a plan for each one of us, designed according to the gifts He has given to each of us, for His specific purpose for our lives.
Sometimes, we have to wait for them to be revealed. And, when they are revealed to us, we can look back and see how God, overtime, laid out each element of His perfect plan. As you look back, you might even find yourself saying, “that was you, God!”
At Hearts, we’ve been on a fast track as we open new programs and expand the current ones. We’ve seen God unfolding His best laid plans. And, we know, there’s even more in store for Hearts as we set out to help as many people in need as possible.
You can help Hearts meet our goal by supporting our programs (a list of our current programs can be found in last month’s newsletter).
This time of year, one way to support us is by cleaning out your closets and doing a little spring cleaning. You can find a blog that we posted in March, 2021, on our website at https://heartsforthehomeless.org/?s=spring+cleaning with tips to help you as you begin your spring cleaning. We also posted another blog last month that defines what happens to your donations when you donate to Hearts https://heartsforthehomeless.org/the-cycle-of-your-clothing-donations/.
We encourage you to check out our blogs. In the meantime, here is a short list of items we accept new or gently used, all year long:
• Men’s, Women’s, and Kid’s Clothing, Shoes and Boots
• Home Decor
• Kitchen Utensils
• Dishes/Pots and Pans
• Household Linens
• Hard toys
• Stuffed Animals
• Books
• Seasonal Decorations
• DVDs
Clothing drives are another way to support us. Here’s a donation that had us smiling from ear to ear.
Thank you students at St. John's Lutheran School!

HEARTS HARVEST FOOD PANTRY
As the food pantry continues to serve our local community, we have come up with some creative ways to make eating healthy, fun. We recently made and handed out samples of muffins and soup, along with ingredients and recipes to the patrons of the food pantry. This was a hit and we will be sure to continue.
Hearts Harvest Food Pantry serves the 14207 area. Our pantry staff and volunteers welcome those in the community who need the help from a food pantry to feed their families, Monday 12pm to 4pm and Fridays 10am to 2pm at Hearts at 870 Tonawanda St. Riverside.
